Taiwan Day 5 - 24th March 2011 Part 2

So, here's part 2 of Day 5.
After discusssing with 李大哥 about our itenery, we decided to visit the Green Green Grassland first as they are about to close. 李大哥 fetched us there which is about 5 minutes away. Reached there about 4.10pm. Enquire about the farm at the counter. We were told that the closing time is 5pm and there are no more sheeps to see. Walao. Came too late. But since we were there and we don't really have time to go the next morning, so we just went in and see what is inside. The lady at the counter told us to start getting out at 4.30pm. There will be announcement when the time is almost up.
So we decided to just walk across the farm heading south to another exit which is nearer to Little Swiss Garden which we planned to visit next. Entrance fee is NT40.
The Main Entrance.
After we enter, there's a big rock in from you us. The view from the entrance is quite amazing, if there's no or less fog, it would be marvellous. Since we were told that the sheep were sent back to their pen, we didn't really have high hope that we can actually see them. But guess what, there are still some roaming around the grassland. Yay.
Baa baa black sheep. The odd one out.
You can find other animals too beside sheep.
Taiwan does a lot of recycling activities, so even their recycling bin here is so cute.
Up close shot of one of the sheep.
Another close up shot.
A group makan together.
Unfortunate one who got stripped of it's wool in a shaving activity earlier on.
Usually, the shaving of sheep show is held during the weekends but there was a special show held earlier in the afternoon before we were there (On Thursday). Yeah, we missed the show.
The sun looks nice in a foggy space...so tried to take the picture. Outcome not as I expected.
Besides sheep and ox, there are horses too.
And pony also.
Nice flower.
Ok, it'll look nicer without the fog.
Managed to walk across the whole farm in 1 hour. There's a stair towards the exit. Lucky we went the right direction as the stairs was going down. Before we exit, we stopped by a souvenir shop and buy some food items. They were about to close when we reached.
Next stop, Little Swiss Garden. It another 10 minutes walk from the Green Green Grassland exit to Little Swiss Garden. We stopped halfway at the Cingjing Information Centre Building to look and see what is in there. There are cafes and souvenir shops there.
At the entrance of Little Swiss Garden, there's another building called Carton King. Basically, most of the things they build there are using carton. More of that later.
Carton King.
A cat sitting peacefully at the entrance.
Windmill made of carton box at the entrance.
Entrance ticket to Little Swiss Garden. NT120 each. If you own the Youth Travel card, you'll need to pay only NT90 (if i'm not mistaken).
Nice flower.
Another close up shot.

Windmill in the middle of the lake. There are shows at certain time at the lake.
More smaller windmills and flowers.
White Pigeon
Flower
Lavender
It's 5.30pm and started to get dark. Lights are lit. As it's getting darker, we just exit the place which connected to Carton King shop.
Carton Sheep
Carton Lights
More carton works.
Carton post box.
Carton Hello Kitty Cake
Carton dudes.
Carton Clock.
Giant bee. Actually beside carton king is 7-11 shop and above 7-11 is a shop selling products made from honey, thus the giant bee. We tested some honey drinks and biscuits. Very nice. Feels like buying all of them but we only bought the biscuits.
Another giant but cute bee.
It's 6.15pm and it's totally dark outside already. Called 李大哥 to fetch us back to 觀星園. Reached about 6.45pm. Take a short rest and it's dinner time. 李大哥 has prepared a nice ingredients for steamboat for our dinner. There are another 4 people staying there also, they are from Malaysia too.
Got few types of mushrooms, a little fishballs, brocolli, sweetcorn, vege, winter melon, sweet potato, carrot, tofu and more vege.
Also got sliced meat, beancurd and glass noodle.
The meat. Yum yum.
The counter at living room.
It's ready. Let's dig in.
Very yummy and healthy steamboat. Nice to have a hot food in a really cold weather.
After dinner, all of us had a nice long chat at the living room, while refilling hot tea. Heard nice stories from Jason, the tour guide.
We actually planned to leave Starry House in the morning by bus so that we have enough time to visit Sun Moon Lake and later to Taichung. But 李大哥 mentioned that our plan are same like the other 4 people and asked whether we want to join as they booked with Jason to go He Huan Mountain first then to Sun Moon Lake and back to Taichung. Ok, a sudden change of plan, but to share the cost and time, why not. Only NT1000 each to go from Starry to Hehuan Mauntain, back to Starry and to Sun Moon Lake and after that fetch us back to our homestay in Taichung.
So, that's the end of day 5. Stay tune for more exciting day 6 coming up.
Bye.
